I am writing to say that I believe you are my female soulmate! From the
cd selection (leonard cohen even!) to the perfect selection of books to every
item and object in the house. I am overwhelmed in the beauty and perfection
of what you did to this place and feel sad to have missed meeting you.
Thks again for taking my breath away (doesn't happen often). I literally
shed a tear upon waking up this morning (cuddling with the kitties) as the
sun rose and the city came alive (complete with a rainbow). I am celebrating
my 32nd birthday and my 10 year anniversary with Todd and could not think

We loved Dar Beida you were mentioned alot when we were out shopping. Your cook was fab.I loved Essaouira and found the people were very friendly and we had a great time at the Mistral beach bar. Riding horses on the beach was an expereince in itself. Thanks The Dombeys 13/04/07
We had the trip of our lives---really it could not have been more perfect, the house was gorgeous, comfortable, such an inspiring sanctuary. We are already scheming to return next year with our friends who were unable to join us. The car transitions were flawless, Rashid and Amina both wonderful people, really the whole thing couldn't have been improved in any way---it makes all other vacations pale by comparison. Absolutely loved Dar Emma and Essouria and it's people (and one particular dog!). Your house felt like a home from home, we were so well looked after (even washing!),everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the boys had fun playing football in the alley with Khalid and Fattifleur and gang. Writing from 6 inches of snow to say how much we loved our week. Hopefully
you will have found our effusive words in your book, a wonderful holiday
when EVERYBODY big and small loves it equally. It was one of the most relaxing
weeks, with great contrasts. Much look forward to coming back one day,think
E is going to change quite a lot in the next years,should be fascinating
to watch.
We loved all your music adding brilliantly to the atmostphere which was pretty

We had an amazing time in Essaouira ... and that is mostly attributed to
Dar Beida!! The thoughtful touches, beguiling and beautiful design features
were thoroughly appreciated by all. Honestly one of the most unique and stunning
places we have ever stayed ... it felt so welcoming and lived in, and yet
nothing like any home any of us had ever lived in before. Kind of like living
in the pages of Elle, but being so comfortable with the decor at the same
time.
We shall definitely be back to stay at the White House and look forward to

Just wanted to say thanks again for our wonderful stay in Essaouria. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The villa was fantastic - stylish but homely, and I think it's great that you give a tour of the medina, the cleaner comes each day and also that you can have food cooked for you. It means that it is almost like having the best of both worlds of a villa and a hotel, and really means you get to experience the best of Essaouria. Amina is a brilliant cook and the chicken tagine she did was one of the best things we had. Ellen 10/09/2008
Dar Emma is a gorgeous contemporary yet very authentic moroccan small house, Located right in the heart of the Medina, it is the perfect place for discovering the charms of Essouira. It is decorated in a beautiful moroccan style but with a very contemporary twist - the owners are designers and their eye for style and taste is abundant throughout. Everything has been thought of. The house is clean, with daily maid service, practical and immensely comfortable. I would strongly recommend this house to two couples or a family with a couple of kids. Situated in the heart of the Medina, Dar Emma is a stroll from restaurants, bars, shopping and the beach. Really a treasure. Thoroughly recommend it. Also the owner is delightful and always on hand with answers and useful advice. We will certainly be going back. Victoria Tydeman 03/03/09
