Dar Beida Roof Terrace
Dar Beida made our holiday in Essaouria extra special. Our stay in Dar Beida was absolutely fantastic. The house itself is full of character and beautifully designed by Emma and her partner. The rooms are spacious and light – cleaned daily by Emma’s cleaner/cook (who I would highly recommend, she cooked tagine for us twice and it was delicious). The roof terrace is a great sun spot and we regularly enjoyed our breakfasts/lunches outside. Emma was such a great hostess. She was very welcoming and incredibly helpful – showing us around the town when we arrived so we could get our bearings and introduced us to the best restaurants and shops. Nothing was too much trouble and Emma was available at any time if we needed her but completely left us to it and respected our privacy. I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday and I would highly recommend staying at Dar Beida – thank you Emma for a great start to 2017!

Super stylish bolthole in the medina. Absolutely loved this 4 story house in the medina. Emma was amazing and showed us all around and introduced us to some wonderful restaurants and shops. The house has everything you could need including 2 sunny terraces, a fabulous kitchen and 4 cosy bedrooms. The home cooked meal on our first night was plentiful and delicious.

Loved it! Dar Beida is a great house to rent as it gives you a chance to experience another side of Essaouira as you are staying in the main hub of the town rather than in a more touristy district. You can pop out for bread, fruit etc within metres of the house. Emma is also an invaluable source of help...

A jewel in the medina. I can’t imagine that there’s a lovelier place to stay in Essauouria. The house is beautiful, stylish and comfortable. No wonder it’s been in so many magazine shoots. It’s exactly the sort of place that makes you wish you had a beautiful holiday home of your own! It’s right in the middle of the medina which we all loved...

It’s just the most amazing house. This is the most fabulous place to stay in Essouria. The house is wonderfully decorated, over 4 floors with 2 large roof terraces to sit and enjoy the sunshine. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Essouria then you really should consider booking here. Situated in the heart of the Medina, it is an oasis...

My husband, daughter (19 years old) and myself stayed at Dar Emma for several days in December and very much enjoyed it. It is a traditional house that has been modernised in a very thoughtful way to create a stylish house that still retains its original character. It’s in a great location - the medina is outside the front door...

Dar Emma
Fab stay in Essaouira - loved it! Our family had a wonderful stay at Dar Beida located in the heart of the medina. The house is superb with everything you can need with stylish furnishings, great roof terrace and a wonderful location. Emma was hugely helpful prior to our arrival with recommendations and bookings on local outings and we loved every second of our week there, capturing the beauty and atmosphere of Essaouira.

Cosy feel at home little paradise all for yourself. The moment you enter Dar Emma you feel at home. It’s the size of this ‘little riad’ and the interior design that does it: warm colours, beautiful tiles, furniture, fireplace, roof terrace... We stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave really. Waking up at the sound of seagulls, breakfast in the sun on your own roof terrace, strolling around in laidback Essaouira... if you’re looking for a place to really wind down and just be: this is it. Emma’s great: anything you want, Emma can arrange it. Definitely go for Amina’s tajine and Mohamed’s little paradise by the beach in Sidi Kaouki... you’ll love it.

Thank you, Emma! We - my daughters and I - simply fell in love with Essaouira and enjoyed every moment of our 3 days at Dar Emma. It was a perfect base with the best location. The house is beautiful, small and spacious at the same time. We enjoyed breakfast on the sunny terraces as well as the cosiness in front of the fireplace in the kitchen.

Lovely house and wonderful hospitality with winter sun in Essaouira. We had a great few days at Dar Emma in Essaouira, the traditional house is nestled in the heart of the medina. We enjoyed winter sunshine on the private rooftop sun terrace and cosy evenings in the kitchen by the fire. We had a couple of meals prepared by Amina, the housekeeper, which were the best we ate in Morocco. It was lovely to meet Emma too, friendly, interesting and helpful in organising meals, hammam, transport etc. Highly recommend!

Dar Emma is a unique and interesting place to stay. Stylishly decorated, the house is situated in the heart of Essaouira’s medina. Emma met us on arrival, showed us around and gave good recommendations to shops, places to eat and things to do. She arranged taxis to and from Marrakech, made reservations for us and was a very good host. We also sampled Amina’s delicious cooking on two evenings - you certainly won’t go hungry, highly recommended! We also did a Moroccan cooking workshop at l’Atelier Madada which was excellent. Essaouira is a small friendly place with a gorgeous beach. Thank you very much.
