Castles in the Sand — Press & Media

Castles in the Sand is an Essaouira-based design project founded by Emma Wilson. It brings together the restoration of two historic Moroccan houses, Dar Beida and Dar Emma, with a distinctive world of interiors, architecture, art, vintage design and local craftsmanship.

Since the early 2000s, leading publications have covered the houses and Emma’s work across interiors, architecture, travel, fashion, lifestyle and cultural media. The archive includes features from The New York Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Telegraph, ELLE Decoration, Remodelista and Monocle, alongside international travel guides and specialist design publications. It also records the houses’ connections with film and television production, photography, fashion shoots and location work in Essaouira.
